Conventional infrastructure
like pipes and septic systems
can cost hundreds of
thousands of dollars in a
place like Kivalina. The
Portable Arctic Sanitation
System was designed by the
Alaska Native Tribal Health
Consortium, in partnership
with CampWater Industries
and CCHRC, as an affordable
alternative for these
communities. It’s a light,
standalone system that
provides running water and
disposes of waste safely.
